Pregnancy is an exciting time but can present unique challenges to women with blood disorders. Pregnancy increases the risk of clotting, and birth can increase risks of bleeding in women with bleeding, or coagulation, disorders. Blood disorders can either be known about prior to getting pregnant or present for the first-time during pregnancy.
It is important that you discuss with your medical team prior to or early in pregnancy to reduce the risk of complications.
